The thunder glass has been used since the early 17th century and is very simple. During bands of high pressure on sunny days, the water level is pushed down into the spout, While during bands of low pressure on cloudy and rainy days, the water rises within the spout. In an approaching storm it rises so much that it will begin to drip.

Note: Water is not included in this barometer. You must use distilled water for accurate readings.
