Iceland’s occult symbols, once forbidden by the church and punishable by severe penalties, have undergone a remarkable transformation in recent decades. Folklorist Kári Pálsson presents an accessible English translation of the Galdrabók, including its original Icelandic text and a previously unpublished grimoire, the Jarðskinna manuscript.
