While these aren’t tied to some world-shattering revelation and the term “prophecy stone” is more of a trade name, we like to think there’s still something there. Fun fact: prophecy stones start as a mineral crystal (often pyrite or marcasite, which can form sharp, angular shapes) and then slowly get replaced by other iron minerals over time while still keeping the original crystal shape. That replacement process is called pseudomorphosis, meaning “false form.” One could then say the original crystal was “prophesied” to become something new, something that would inevitably change its structure and makeup entirely. Maybe, in an overly dramatic way, the prophecy can be seen in its creation and transformation. If you’re looking for a stone with deeper meaning that can be interpreted through your own lens, you can’t do much better than these.
